Alan and I spent a day wandering around Austin's South Congress District.
It's an eclectic area full of handmade, vintage and collectables.
I had read about Hill County Weavers but hadn't connected it was in this area. I was thrilled when I spied the sign.
Alan took a video, with permission, of inside. Photos simply would never capture how large and varied their inventory was. When we get home and can edit the vidoe I will post it.
I bought these 3 skeins (black, lilac and royal purple) of cotton for $7.00 each. There is more than 178ft in each. That's what I call value.
I also bought a skein of the cotton in natural plus a skein of bamboo. These will satisfy the colourist in me. I'm planning on using these threads on my takadai, can't wait.
