What's a Shoe Addict To Do ?
When we made the decision to close the shop last year I pondered what I would like to make now that I don't 'have' to stock the shop. Of course the core products would remain, hand dyed fabric & threads and all the kumihimos bits but what else could I indulge in?
I was going to do some shoe sewing but caring duties didn't align well with the time at the sewing machine. I will get back to these but for now they take way more concentration than I have.
Also part of the original plan was to use the fabric scraps from the above project to decoupage some loafers. I had made my self a pair last spring and got quite a few orders
These are a custom order made with fabric left over from my Sister's 50th birthday quilt.
These are for me, (are you surprised?), made from Dad's collection of maps from National Geographics.
These are super relaxing to make. That maybe the PVA glue but I think its more because I have found a way to combine my love of creating with my shoe addiction.
The original plan also included doing some 'holiday' markets. Flitting off for the weekend and squeezing in a market while we were away. That hasn't eventuated yet but I'm working towards at least one market before the years out. In the meantime I'm going to keep working on my shoe fantasy.
