How to Combine 3 Studio Spaces into 1
Now that we are spending more time at home we decided the time was right to revamp the home studio spaces. That's right, plural. Not only did I need to find space for tools etc that were at the shop but i also wanted to combine the upstairs studio and the downstairs into one.
By the time I thought to take photos we had already emptied a lot out of this room. Oh how I hated that carpet. It was in the house when we bought it and apart from being ugly there was nothing wrong with it so it stayed. This time though its number was up.
Alan removing the benchtop. Its already been recycled, part of it into our new front fence.
We pulled up the carpet. In the hallway there was carpet, then under that was lino, then under that there was painted floor. I suspect the paint would have been lead based so we organised a professional to do the floor polishing.
In the studio the floor hadn't been painted but they had used Women's Weekly from the 1950's as underlay. More about the magazine pages in coming weeks.
Floor polisher arrived and after a couple of days of minor incovenience.....
.....we were able to start moving furniture into the room.
And my new machine has even made it out of the box. Very happy with the end result. Don't know why we waited so long to do it now.
